Trust the Size Chart!
I have a 31-32" waist and a 45-46" hip, which are 2-4 sizes apart in most brands and even in other styles from Dovetail. I ordered a 12 based on the size chart, though I was a little nervous and thought I might need to size up, and these pants fit me like a GLOVE. This is the first pair of jeans I have ever owned that I don't need to wear a belt with, which is wild. This size is very fitted through the thighs on me, which makes sense considering I'm at the upper end of the hip range, and a 14 would probably give me the relaxed look of the product photos.
On top of the perfect fit, the denim is soft and extremely stretchy while still being a much heavier, harder-wearing weight than I'm used to with women's jeans. The pockets are huge and sit in exactly the right places. I can squat and bend and twist just as easily as if I were wearing a loose skirt and nothing pushes its way out of my pockets.
The only thing I'm not in love with is the color. It's not the darker blue of the first few product photos with a model, it's the lighter wash of the product photo where the jeans are laid flat. If these came in a dark wash or black, they would be absolutely perfect. A 28" inseam would also be great. Hopefully, the fact that these are selling out as soon as Dovetail can stock them means they'll be added to the permanent collection and given a few more options. Hopefully they also make some other pants with these measurements because they're one of the only brands doing this right…
