Smart, stylish, and flexible, M'fon Women’s Work Jacket is like the cool older sister of our fan-fave M’fon Work Vest. We kept the stretchy sleek design, added sleeves, and Dovetailed some details. The jacket's softshell exterior resists water, wind, stains and abrasion. 3 zippered pockets keep your must-haves safe, and paprika color-pop pull tabs make it easier for cold hands to unzip. Angled front reinforcements look sharp and strengthen the construction at the pockets. Elbow reinforcements provide strength and mobility. Side panels fit and flatter. Stretch flannel lining made from remnants of our Givens Workshirt warm you from the inside out. Elastic cuffs stay put. M’fon works everywhere: outdoors on the jobsite or in the office, at a Friday night bonfire or on a fall hike.

What’s in a name? M'fon means “grace” in the Efik language, and fully embodies its namesake, Dovetail weartester Mercy M'fon, founder of the non-profit Wild Diversity, who has been instrumental in our product development since the beginning.

You got 'em dirty, now get 'em clean.

  • Turn inside out.
  • Wash cold.
  • Hang dry. If you must tumble, tumble low to damp dry.

We get it's tempting to wash that dirty jacket in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of them. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. The planet will thank you too.

Warm and weatherproof

This is definitely and wind and weatherproof jacket. I ordered a size MD based on another reviewer saying she needed to size up. The MD was really wide around the hem. It flared out. There was no hem cinch to combat this. The chest and shoulders felt like the right size, but the rest of the jacket was just too big. I am exchanging for a SM. I hope the hem "flare" goes away, but I am a bit skeptical about the fit in the upper body area. I will follow up with another review. I am 5'7", 34-36C, 135 lbs, thin, but muscular.

M'fon

Very nice looking! my only disappointment and concern are the main pockets. I love the plaid, but wish there was a more durable fabric either behind it or that a more durable fabric was used to begin with.

I work with all manner of small hand tools, and feel like one misplace screwdriver would tear through the pocket with ease. I would gladly pay more for durable main pockets. Perhaps consider augmenting the pockets for future designs.
