It’s cold. There’s work to be done. Grab the Kent X Chore Coat, button up, and take it on like you always do — but in comfort. Named for the Kent Ranch where our co-founder Sara Kent DeLuca grew up, this coat is inspired by her childhood winters, when a short midnight walk to the barn to check on the lambs felt like a mile. We turned to the women of DX Ranch in North Dakota to give us the inside scoop on how to really stick it to winter with this upgraded chore coat. It’s toasty but never roasty. It’s built for work with a fit that lets you reach, stretch and move. And there are plenty of perfectly-placed pockets to keep tools, odds, ends, and what-have-yous zipped, tucked, and stashed safely away. So get to it. Your chore list just got a whole lot warmer.

That handy 3-snap slit in back lets you adjust the fit to match your activity. Snap it up when you’re standing, unsnap to your liking when you’re seated or want more mobility. Customized comfort!

  • Shell and lining: 100% cotton

You got 'em dirty, now get 'em clean.

  • Fasten all hardware
  • Wash cold.
  • Hang dry.
  • If you must tumble, tumble low to damp dry.

We get it's tempting to wash that dirty coat in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of it. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. This jacket is so great! Looks great and functions perfectly. The pockets are lined with flannel and are huge! You can really put your hands in your pocket to get them warmed up. The cellphone pocket on the front chest is the perfect spot.

Excellent addition to my winter gear

I needed a good outdoor work coat for winter. I originally ordered the Medium but it was too snug in the armpits and sleeves when I wore a thicker layer (like a sweatshirt) underneath. I was able to exchange for a large and it’s a better fit. The coat overall is a bit stiff but it’ll soften with use so I’m not too worried about it. When I wear it out and about I receive compliments on the coat and people ask where it’s from. Definitely a worthy addition to your closet.

So good

MUCH cozier than I anticipated. I live in northern Maine and need warm things. It’s holding up so well in the teens so far with not a lot of layering. Which is fabulous. Love the flattering fit. Pockets galore that are massive. I easily put my book in there one day to walk around with. Wish sleeves were a bit longer, but I have super long arms and sleeves have been a curse most of my life. Thrilled with the purchase. Dovetail rocks!! Been showing it off big time:) Honestly, got it for chores, but it’s so lovely that I don’t want to get it dirty. HA! Maybe I just need two…

So warm!!

This coat is even cuter in person and, more importantly, it is so warm! It's been a long time since I've been warm in the winter and I'm looking forward to having this during the cold cold midwest winter months.
