The Hadley Short Sleeve Coveralls in Wabash Stripe Stretch Canvas puts a new spin on Dovetail's iconic sharp coverall design with a heritage fabric straight out of the workwear archives. These short sleeve coveralls for women are crafted from indigo stretch canvas, featuring the classic Wabash Stripe of white dashes and dots. Wabash Stripe nods to what great-great-grandma wore working on the railroads. The word Wabash comes from the Miami tribe's ‘Wah-bah-shik-ki,’ meaning “water flowing over white stones." The indigo blue coveralls not only honor tradition but also provide the comfort and flexibility needed for today’s demanding tasks.

When mechanic Faye Hadley of All Girls Garage and Moto Mythbusters inquired about coveralls, Dovetail answered the call for well-fitting women's workwear. Traditional options were often too baggy, with wide legs that picked up oil and dust, or had rivets and exposed zippers that could damage delicate work in an auto restoration or repair shop. The few coveralls marketed to women were made from cheap fabric and were merely a sized-down version of a man's fit. So, we stepped in with our signature women's fit, incorporating an inner drawcord, belt loops, and snaps for versatile wear, ensuring women can work comfortably and confidently anywhere.

Designed specifically as women’s short sleeve work coveralls, the Hadley mechanic inspired coveralls feature a stretchy canvas fabric that allows for full range of motion, while features like a crotch gusset, reinforced knees with pad openings, and nested thigh pockets ensure practical functionality. A WRAP Platinum facility partnered with Intermode, Tuk Tuk is a sustainability star, milling gorgeous fabrics onsite as well as making them into clothes. Also onsite, Tuk Tuk's organic veg garden provides lunches for workers.

You got 'em dirty, now get 'em clean.

The indigo dye used on this fabric can transfer to other items. To avoid staining your other laundry, cold wash separately with like colors.

  • Turn inside out.
  • Wash cold.
  • Hang dry. If you must tumble, tumble low to damp dry.

We get it's tempting to wash those dirty pants in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of them. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. The planet will thank you too.

Best coveralls ever!

The fit is superb on these coveralls! There is enough room to move and stretch however I need while doing field work, but it’s tailored enough that I’m not going to get excess fabric caught on field gear. Also, these coveralls are stylish, which is a welcome change from some of my other work clothes. They are the best coveralls I’ve ever had!

Have not taken them off!

Best shop wear ever. I can wear long sleeves if it’s cold outside or leggings under. Waist feel ya perfect. I can run, squat, work & play in these! Highest recommendation.

Love these Coveralls

I have a farm and I'm working in my garden, on my tractor, and building furniture. These Coveralls are comfortable, stretchy, easy to layer for cooler weather (I sized up), and are durable to hold up to daily wear during all my work projects. I only wish that there were more pockets. I am used to having lots of pockets in my other Dovetail pants. I love these Coveralls!

Great style and fabric, but maybe not ideal for shorter people

I'm so sad to have to return these as the style, fabric, and stretch are perfect. Being 5'3", I ordered the shorter length and the leg length did seem to be correct, but the torso was several inches too long for someone with a smaller frame, so the crotch hung down about to my mid-thigh. The top half was a good fit, and the bottom half was a good fit if I held the waist up to the right place - there was just too much length in the middle of the garment.
