Here’s Your Short Notice

No need to take the scissors to your favorite Dovetail anymore– we did it for you. Our work shorts are back for the summer, and better than ever, with a shorter inseam (8.5”), frayed cuff, and a soft, worn-in feel. We won’t sell you short on the details that make it Dovetail: a tool loop, a pant-load of 10 pockets and a streamlined look. These fit like our past wabash stripe work short, but the frayed cuff offers more mobility, and a more washed–down fabric gives and takes.

The word Wabash comes from the Miami tribe's ‘Wah-bah-shik-ki,’ meaning “water flowing over white stones." You’ll know exactly what they meant when you feast your eyes on this yarn-dyed indigo stretch canvas striped with white dashes and dots. Wabash Stripe gives a nod to what great-great-grandma wore working in the factory– but softer, stretchier, and super strong. To cut a long story short, these work shorts are ready for a summer of sweat, grime and getting dirty with Dovetail.

We are stoked to work with our friends at Tuk Tuk in India, who make our Wabash Work Shorts. A WRAP Platinum facility partnered with Intermode, Tuk Tuk is a sustainability star, milling gorgeous fabrics onsite as well as making them into clothes. Also onsite, Tuk Tuk's organic veg garden provides lunches for workers.

You got 'em dirty, now get 'em clean.

  • Turn inside out.
  • Wash cold.
  • Hang dry.
  • If you must tumble, tumble low to damp dry.

We get it's tempting to wash those dirty shorts in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of them. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. The planet will thank you too.

YUM!!

just received these and put them on....my first word..YUM. They fit like a dream, comfort beyond compare. Now I have some serious shorts to work in this summer. Also, so comfortable and look good, I will wear all the time. I always appreciate the many and functional pockets you have in all your pants as well as these shorts. Thank you. When you have more colors, I will definitely buy more. I already have several pair of your long pants. The quality of your product is unbeatable. !!
