We’ve gone all out. Built for the EMTs, messengers, outdoor school teachers, and the rest of us wannabes, the Ready Set Cargo pant is a walking storage unit. But it still looks sharp. Because we Dovetailed it. Yes, we’ve made you an elastic waist cargo pant with big-ass pockets. No, you won’t lose your self respect when you wear it. Deep design tweaks (peep those slash-angled pockets!) bring full-on function and Sarah Connor in Terminator vibes. You can have it all. And carry it too.

Note: Due to the lower stretch content of our Ripstop fabric, we strongly recommend sizing up.

We are so lucky to work with Sapphire Finishing Mills in Pakistan who both made this fabric and sewed the products for us. Responsible manufacturing doesn’t get better than SFM. They hold the rigorous GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification, among many others, and their women’s empowerment program is truly being the change we want to see in the garment world.

  • Turn inside out.
  • Wash cold.
  • Hang dry. If you must tumble, tumble low to damp dry.

We get it's tempting to wash those dirty pants in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of them. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. The planet will thank you too.

MOST comfortable fieldwork pant!

I ordered these in late January 2025 during a sale and I am blown away by the quality, craftsmanship, functionality, and compliments I've received on these pants! These are my 5th pair of dovetail pants and I am so happy with them. I can't wait to wear these all summer on the trails. It is such a shame Dovetail is discontinuing these and offering their new Provisions Cargo pant only. Please don't discontinue the Ready Set Cargo, Dovetail! I'd love a pair of these in black but now my chance is over :(

Comfy cargo

I love these pants these are more of a relaxed fit in the legs instead of a slim fit as described but they are very flattering and I love the pockets.

Excellent

Only changes I would make are additional pockets closer to Maven X style and a Velcro snug flap around ankles so I could buy them too long and secure them outside of my boots. Otherwise these are probably the most comfortable and practical pants Dovetail makes. It's surprising that they're not more popular.

We’ll ship the in-stock item first, and when the pre-order item is available, we’ll ship that to you separately.

What is the shipping cost for pre-orders?
