It’s a carpenter pant and a skater pant and a maker pant. But we just call it the Shop Pant.

Tons of functionality, but on the down low. Sitting slouchy and easy, the Shop Pant doesn’t scream “work pant.” But it’s got tons of pockets and it’s tough AF. Heavy-duty denim is made even stronger with an infusion of nylon. But this is no normal nylon. Next-level sustainable nylon won’t shed microplastics when your pants go to die. For more, see FABRIC.

Fit Note

We designed the shop pant to be worn relaxed and slouchy. If you prefer a more fitted look, you may need to size down. It comes in 2 lengths, 32” and 30”. For a cool cropped ankle vibe, choose shorter than your typical inseam.

This pant loves your ankles. Designed for rolling the cuff or wearing as is, the Shop Pant looks killer with that slight crop. See FIT NOTE for more on how to choose your inseam length.
We’re psyched to make the Shop Pant with our seriously sustainable friends at Freedom Denim. Made with nifty CiCLO® nylon, these pants are built with strong synthetic fibers, but they break down like natural fibers. So you can get dirty knowing Mother Earth will reclaim your duds when you’re done. For more, see FABRIC.

We’re not smart enough to explain how smart this fabric is. But we’ll try. It has all the breathability of cotton denim, but it’s strengthened by CiCLO® nylon, a manmade fiber that behaves like a natural fiber at the end of its life. Basically, the CiCLO® in your pants lives its life as a synthetic. On its deathbed, this fiber says to itself, “Believe in a green afterlife, and you will go to there.” And so it does. Bonkers! You got 'em dirty, now get 'em clean.

  • Turn inside out.
  • Wash cold.
  • Hang dry. If you must tumble, tumble low to damp dry.

We get it's tempting to wash those dirty pants in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of them. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. The planet will thank you too.

Something different

These are a bit different than the other types of pants I'm used to. They come a bit big so be prepared. A size 14 in a different style were snugger than these size 12. However I attribute the loose fit to the style. Go with the size chart and not what you're used to. The color and texture are beautiful and the pockets are nice, spacious and inconspicuous.

Please use this denim for other designs too!

This is my second pair of this brand and I love them. They are a bit stiff when you first put them on but after a couple days they become the perfect combo of stretchy but still firm. I would love other designs as well using this denim. And a small short person grievance for not having the 28" insseam for these but they look fine rolled up. I previously got the blue hemp ones and while those are very comfy and also stretchy, the fabric feels a bit too thin between the thighs. These on the other hand are an even better version of stretchy jeans for somebody with big hips and thighs while also being a bit more sturdy. I bought a size smaller than recommended.

Where have they been all my life!

Honestly when I saw them and I saw the dye job I was this close to returning them but then realizing how well they fit I started to like the vintage army wash they were going for.

I advice to go down sizes for these !

For maven slim blacks I'm 8/34 but for the shop pant I'm 4/32, I thought they were going to be too short but it turned out to be perfect !

They're so comfortable and got numerous compliments about them I have yet to wash them just hope they last washes.

Where have they been all my life?

Honestly when I saw these pants I automatically felt weird about the wash, however the fit is perfect ! They don't hug my calves that makes me constantly pull them down and the more I wore them the more I realized how unique this wash is .It gives me old school vintage army pant vibes. I was scared they'd be too short (I'm 6ft tall) but they work ! I haven't washed them yet but already received a crazy amount of compliments, the only thing I'd recommend is size down I'm an 8/34 in the maven slim blacks
