Named for our buddy Britt, a builder who speaks her mind and wastes no time, our most technical pant gets right to the point: it is packed with hardworking features, loaded with pocket power, and fits like a tradeswoman’s dream. This heavyweight saddle brown canvas is a tad darker in color than that found in our saddle brown Maven X and Freshley Overall.

Props to our friends at Foison Textiles in China, who milled this fabric. This facility is powered entirely by solar. Oeko-Tex and WRAP-certified, Foison truly embodies the change we want to see in the apparel world.

You got 'em dirty, now get 'em clean.

  • Turn inside out.
  • Wash cold.
  • Hang dry.
  • If you must tumble, tumble low to damp dry.

We get it's tempting to wash those dirty pants in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of them. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. The planet will thank you too.

The best

I have had my gray Britts for about 2 years now, and they're finally wearing out. They have protected me from errant pruning saw slashes, shielded my thighs during war with Nootka Rose hedges, carried my pocket knife daily without fraying and still have dedicated space for pruners or a slojd knife, and let me tell you about the pockets and loops - my carharrts were hardly after worn after I discovered life with a dedicated pencil pocket, and the snug hammer loop /actually/ hangs on to my hatchet effectively when I'm heading out to harvest green wood for carving.

My next-gen brown Britts arrived last week, and I didn't want to take them off. They fit a little looser than the old gray ones, but that may change after they're washed. I have Day constructs in size 6 that are even looser, and they have also shrunk down a little with washing and fit well now.

Dovetail, since you have gear like gloves, you should offer some pocket knives, too! You're surrounded by great knife makers, from James Brand to CRKT to Benchmade to Leatherman...

Dovetail does it again.

They are perfect. That’s kinda all there is to it. Durable yet comfortable. Flattering yet functional. And in this current era of super short inseams, thanks for giving this tall girl the option to go long.

Love the sizing

I am really digging the Britt Utility pants. Super comfortable, great movement ability, and tons of pockets. I have the Thermal style, and I like those the best. They never feel cold when you put them on. But these Utility pants sans-thermal are ready to go for spring and beyond.
