That jacket you always had to go to the men's section for? We made it for you. Rugged, but not bulky, the Oahe Work Jac is the perfect midweight layering piece. Oahe is the Lakota word for "foundation"—a name suggested to us by the women of the Lakota-owned DX Ranch in South Dakota. The Oahe Work Jac rounds out our DX Ranch collection: foundational pieces that bring performance to the range, but feel at home in the city. Laid back but stocked up, the all-purpose Oahe crosses all terrain. Earthy canvas goes with everything. 7 pockets go for miles. Oversized girlfriend fit sits easy, but subtle tailoring steers clear of frumpy. Layer up, ride on.

We're nuts about the natural corozo buttons on the Oahe. Made from sustainably grown corozo nut, these beauties are not only plastic free but strong, scratch resistant, and naturally gorgeous.

Fist bumps for our friends at Foison Textiles in China, who made the Oahe Work Jac. Foison is powered entirely by solar, with a robust recycled wastewater program.
Lean into the loveliest stretch canvas.

This canvas is so dreamy you'll be hugging it back. We garment-dyed this jac in the richest ochre we could find. That means we dunked the whole thing in a dirt-loving hue that dries to a worn-in patina of perfection. But we wouldn't be Dovetail if we didn't back up good looks with serious performance. Heavy-duty canvas threads meet our secret stretch sauce, for hardcore heft that still moves easy.

You got it dirty, now get it clean.

We get it's tempting to wash that dirty jac in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of it. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. The planet will thank you too.

Love it!

I haven’t worn it for long yet, but I know I will love it! The stretch is perfect. Originally I ordered a small, but had to exchange for an XS. It definitely runs big.

Perfect for early and late season hawking!

I bought this for briar protection for early/late season hawking with wife who is a falconer. Excellent fit, super comfortable and flexible material. I haven’t been out in it yet, but it seems like it’ll hold up to all the thorny things we encounter.

Best Jacket EVER

I discovered Dovetail at a recent event I attended. Loved the quality of their gear and decided to splurge on a new jacket. It’s such amazing quality for a really affordable price. I always have trouble with jackets fitting me in the shoulder area but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Fits true to size and isn’t restrictive. I have full range of movement and that’s an amazing feeling. Will definitely be a repeat customer and highly, highly recommend this piece to any and everyone.
