These pants are great and fit as I would expect, which is more than I can say for a lot of Dovetail's pants in the past few years, as more styles have been added to the lineup. I like the addition of elastic in the waistband, so that I do not have to wear a belt to hold them up. I have several other pairs of Dovetails, all an iteration of the classic Britt Utility jean, which slide off my hips without a belt. These do not have double knee fabric, so I know they will not last as long as the Britts, but they will be lighter weight, which will be nice for summer.

I do wish these pants had a side leg pocket on both sides, as I like to keep my phone in one pocket and a slim wallet on the other side They do have the extra pocket, it's just stacked on top of the 'phone' pocket. The stitched down separation for a pencil pocket really only allows for something as wide as a credit card to be inserted into that side pocket, so I will likely remove that stitching. I personally never use a hammer loop, as I always wear a nail belt when doing carpentry work. As such, I find the hammer loop to be extraneous and I have had it get caught on equipment, which is not only irritating, it's dangerous.

I considered buying the green ripstop jeans, but the second hammer loop threw me. I had to laugh when watching the video of the woman with the hammer on one side and a hatchet on the other...
