What does a day in your work life look like?

It depends on the day. Most days, I work from home. I create social media content and schedule posts on social media platforms. For my freelance work, I produce and edit videos and events as well as promotional content and music videos. I also direct and produce for my brand, Anchitta Films.

What made you start doing the amazing things that you do?

I was pretty much raised on a film set. My dad was an assistant director, a cinematographer, and an actor. My mom worked in a production office and costumes. I tried a lot of activities and took a lot of classes to find my passion, but I always came back to filmmaking.

Did you complete any training? If not, how did you learn your trade/skill?

I recently graduated from Portland State University for Film Production. My completed courses include advanced editing, directing actors, and narrative film production.

What do you want people to know about being a woman in your field?

Above-the-line positions such as screenwriter, producer, director, and actors are mostly filled with men. Women are underrepresented in creative positions and generally less well paid.

What are you doing when you’re not working hard?

How do you encourage other women to start doing what you do?

I always try to include as many women and LGBTQ in my cast and crew as I can. My films often focus on woman protagonists and women’s rights. My current film in pre-production, Undercard, is female written and directed. It follows Yanisa, a struggling kickboxer who challenges this male-dominated sport and overcomes significant obstacles.I hope Undercard will combine my Thai culture with western film and media styles. So stay tuned for that!

Who’s a role model who helped you in your journey to where you are?

My family, friends, colleagues, and professors. I don't have one specific role model because everyone who believes in me and roots for me has helped in my journey and they continue to do so.

If you could give your 20-year-old-self advice, what would it be?

I'm only 23, but if I could give advice to my 20-year-old-self, I would say don’t stress, just work hard and believe in yourself. Also, don’t compare yourself to others, but to yourself yesterday.

Do you have any special projects or cool things you want people to check out?

I just finished my last film, August. It’s currently being sent to film festivals!

What does workwear designed for women mean to you?

It's awesome! On production days, I always wear my insulated Freshley overalls. I’m able to move in them freely and they have pockets for all my tools! To have something that comfortably fits, looks great, and serves many purposes is amazing.
