Our beloved Day Construct pant got a summer chop, but chill – we kept the pockets! Packed with purpose, these are the ultimate in women’s tough work shorts. Durable. Quick-drying. In Lichen Green, so you can be at one with nature. Like our Day Construct pants, these work shorts have full booty protection via our Crackminder™ technology (aka a higher back rise). Bend, crouch, squat easy. Because the only crack we like to see is dawn’s!

So light, so strong. Ripstop for the win.

  • Ultra lightweight ripstop cotton
  • Fabric weight: 7 oz
  • Fabric content: 90% cotton/ 8% nylon/ 2% spandex
  • Light stretch
  • Stain-resistant. Get dirty, wash clean.
  • Water-resistant. Shake it off.
  • Quick-dry. No sweat.
  • UPF 50. Throw shade.

These shorts are super lightweight so you can work in the heat and keep your cool. Does lightweight mean wimpy? Hell no. This is Dovetail, people. Ripstop shuts out the sharp shit. A touch of stretch means you can bust your moves in comfort.

  • Wash cold.
  • Hang dry. If you must tumble, tumble low to damp dry.

We get it's tempting to wash those dirty shorts in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of them. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. My go-to summer work shorts

I bought these shorts after purchasing your workpants, which I’ve worn obsessively during the colder months as I do gardening, landscaping, and chicken chores. Their reinforced knees and general quality are superb. I’ve been just as happy this warm-weather alternative. The shorts fit true to size, with some stretch in the waistband. They stretch and move as I do, leaving me feeling comfortable and unconfined. The pockets are fabulous — see photos below. In #3 I’m using the handy tool pocket, and in #4 one of two skinny pockets which are just right for a lip balm. My iPhone13 fits well into the front pocket, and the zippered pocket at the back is great for car keys and other valuables. In all, I’m very happy to have discovered the Dovetail brand and will expect to keep coming to you for more tough, well-made work wear!

Love everything about these shorts. Lightweight but heavy duty and my butt crack doesn’t show! Slightly right on my thighs but otherwise perfect.

Best shorts ever!

The fit is perfect, they are extremely comfortable, flattering to my shape, and the pockets are functional and fantastic. I have already ordered a second pair in the Flax color. (More colors, please!)

Excellent shorts

I love the functionality and they're super cute on. I typically wear a size 8 but sized up to a 10 in these. I will say the elastic waistband is lightly irritating but I just fold it over or tuck in my shirt. I love all my Dovetail items!
