Here’s your next water cooler fun fact: the phrase ‘worth its salt’ comes from the Roman custom of paying soldiers wages to buy salt. For the same reason, the English word ‘salary’ derives from the Latin ‘salarium,’ (sal is the Latin word for salt). As such, salt crystals inspired the graphic on this tee.
