If long johns and jeans had a high-tech miracle baby, it would be Britt Utility Thermal. A warmed-up version of our most technical work pant, it’s made with next gen, all-in-one thermal stretch denim. The fabric wizards at our denim factory really went wild with this one. It’s a fully integrated hybrid fabric: tough on the outside, cozy on the inside, with recycled, thermoregulating insulation to keep you toasty, but never roasty. And it fits like a Britt, not a snow pant. All of the Dovetail stretch you love without extra bulk means you can move, stretch, and bend in comfort, even when the weather is cold AF. It really is a miracle, baby.

True Blue partner: Props to our amazing fabric partner, Repreve®, and their exceptional planet-conscious products. The recycled poly in these products uses 43% fewer fossil fuels than conventional polyester. Each pant saves 8 plastic bottles from landfill.

You got 'em dirty, now get 'em clean.

  • Turn inside out.
  • Wash cold.
  • Hang dry.
  • If you must tumble, tumble low to damp dry.

We get it's tempting to wash those dirty pants in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of them. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. The planet will thank you too.

Lives Up to All the Hype!

I have worn these all fall/winter in Utah & now I need to purchase another color for my Alaskan summers. No more wearing a pair of pants with either thin/thick thermals. These pants have solved everything. I love the stretch & durability. I'm used to other women noticing my badass pants, but I even have men complimenting on them. Great pants for women who adventure.

Love the insulated pants!

I am 5’6”, 120 lbs. 28” waist, 34 1/2” hips. I own a pair in grey (size 4, 32 length). They are loose fitting, great for work. Sized down to a 2, 34 length in the new brown pair. Trimmer fit, not tight.

Love these, so comfortable. Can you make them in a dark brown?

In love!

These pants fit like a glove. They are stretchier than the saddle brown canvas Britt’s. They are also much softer on the skin. I live in the mountain of western North Carolina, so they are plenty warm for our winters. I think if I was back in WI, I’d probably pair them with a base layer when the polar vortex forms. I used to wear a base layer, fleece pant, and insulated snow bibs to stay warm on those -40F days with a wind chill in WI. I really like the thermal fabric of the freshly’s, Britt’s, and trucker jackets. It’s wonderful to wear warm heavy duty fabrics and have a garment that flexes with you. Well done ladies!
