We get it's tempting to wash those dirty pants in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of them. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. I bought these mostly for a trip coming up to a warmer climate that will include a lot of hiking and having to cross streams. The first pair I ordered were in my size, but bigger than would work for me. You may consider sizing down (as I did with an exchange) if you're on the smaller side of your size. The weight of these pants is perfect for outdoor adventures in warm climates, or if you just prefer lighter pants. They should hold up to the type of work I do around our property. I'm excited to wear them.
