It’s a carpenter pant and a skater pant and a maker pant. But we just call it the Shop Pant.

Tons of functionality, but on the down low. Sitting slouchy and easy, the Shop Pant doesn’t scream “work pant.” But it’s got tons of pockets and it’s tough AF. Heavy-duty, washed-down denim is made even stronger with an infusion of nylon. But this is no normal nylon. Next-level sustainable nylon won’t shed microplastics when your pants go to die. Fit Note

We designed the shop pant to be worn relaxed and slouchy. If you prefer a more fitted look, you may need to size down. It comes in 2 lengths, 32” and 30”. For a cool cropped ankle vibe, choose shorter than your typical inseam.

We’re psyched to make the Shop Pant with our seriously sustainable friends at Freedom Denim. Made with nifty CiCLO® nylon, these pants are built with strong synthetic fibers, but they break down like natural fibers. So you can get dirty knowing Mother Earth will reclaim your duds when you’re done. For more, see FABRIC.

  • Fabric weight: 12 oz
  • Fabric content: 88% cotton/ 11% CiCLO® nylon/ 1% spandex
  • High stretch
  • Ultra breathable

We’re not smart enough to explain how smart this fabric is. But we’ll try. It has all the breathability of cotton denim, but it’s strengthened by CiCLO® nylon, a manmade fiber that behaves like a natural fiber at the end of its life. Basically, the CiCLO® in your pants lives its life as a synthetic. On its deathbed, this fiber says to itself, “Believe in a green afterlife, and you will go to there.” And so it does. Bonkers! You got 'em dirty, now get 'em clean.

  • Turn inside out.
  • Wash cold.
  • Hang dry. If you must tumble, tumble low to damp dry.

We get it's tempting to wash those dirty pants in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of them. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. The planet will thank you too.

Great, hardwearing pants

I put these pants to the test. I am a farmer/shepherd and they hold up. Fit is great for lots of bending, twisting, climbing up in the hay loft. I often worry that durable pants won't move with me, but these are great. They run a little big, but honestly, that is better than being too small to bend over in. If you want a more fitted look, size down.

Working ceramic artist

I never write reviews but I am absolutely compelled to for thee pants. I could not make them better myself. I love the weight of the fabric love the fit and stretch. I am a ceramic artist. I make my own line and also teach. It's as if you folks made these for potters! Perfect for straddling the potters stool and bending over the wheel head. I love them and plan to buy more. Thank you for making clothes for the working artist.

Work ready but feels broken in

So far I am absolutely in love with these pants. They fit my body perfect, feel robust but have that broken in feel, and have stretch and gussets in all the right places. I will be getting these again some day once this pair has done its tenure.

My new favorite pair of jeans

Amazing pants--the gusset, the feel, the durability, the pockets! Great jeans that I'm obsessed with. The fit is a little baggy--I ordered my regular size, but don't think I'm brave enough to drop a size until I lose more weight. In thr meanwhile, I'll just enjoy the freedom to move!
