great field work pants
After a friend recommended these to me, I've been buying and wearing these for the last 3 years as both regular daily wear pants and field work pants (geology and environmental science work). Over the years I've gotten three pairs in two different colors as well as the thermal ones, which are phenomenal for winter. The pockets are stellar, and the tool loop is great for a rock hammer -- it's relatively tight so tools aren't swinging against your leg, which I've found to be a problem in other brands of work pants, and you can slide the handle into the pocket underneath for even more security if desired.
I have found that these run a little short for my tastes; I usually get a 32" inseam but for these I get a 34 (a 33 would probably actually be ideal, but isn't available. I also just got a pair of Britt Utility pants and they do not seem to run short). The one downside I have encountered is that both of my previous pairs have failed in the same manner: splitting across the butt underneath the pockets (they had not felt overly tight in that area prior to splitting, but that is one of the few areas where these pants are not reinforced). In both cases they failed after over a year and a half of very heavy wear, including multiple field seasons, so they're still my go-to for work pants and I have recommended them to many others over the years.
