Women’s History Month 2026

Women's History Month isn't a pause to look back, it's a full-throttle reminder of how much women have built, hauled, planted, welded, and grown. At Dovetail, that's not a once-a-year sentiment. It's the whole point.

We make workwear for women because women do the work. Period. And this month, we're celebrating that in a big way, starting with our annual Women's Day Sale where we shine a light on the gender pay gap while making your pay go all the way. This year the discount is 19%. Read on to find out how we arrived at this number. We’ll also be sharing stories all month long that feature some of the badass women in our community that honor the history being made every single day, one dirty-kneed, callus-earned shift at a time. Stay tuned!

Why 19%?

Each year, Dovetail Workwear’s Women’s Day Event spotlights the gender pay gap by matching our discount to the national average disparity between men’s and women’s earnings. This year, for the second consecutive year, the gap widened—with women earning only 81¢ to every dollar their male counterparts make. This is the biggest annual drop in the gender earnings ratio since 1966, and the worst ratio since 2016

I’ve heard other figures for the pay gap. Why $0.81?

Numbers vary based on methodology, industries, regions, and demographics. We use data from the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR) Annual Gender Wage Gap by Race and Ethnicity Report, a longstanding, widely cited source used by academic institutions and advocacy organizations.

But not every woman makes $0.81 to the dollar. What about underrepresented populations?

You’re absolutely right. The 81¢ average doesn’t reflect the severe disparities faced by BIPOC women compared to white male workers. Their pay discrepancies are all at least double the overall pay gap.

  • Latina women: 58¢ to a white male counterpart’s dollar (42% pay gap)
  • Black women: 65¢ to a white male counterpart’s dollar (35% pay gap)

At Dovetail, we don’t just acknowledge these gaps, we work to close them by supporting women across industries with workwear designed to fit and perform.
