Mercy M'fon Shammah—carpenter & community leader
"Do what feels most true to you. Grow. Believe that you can."
Building. Mercy M'fon Shammah is always building something:
- furniture—she's a residential carpenter with her own business
- community—she's the founder of the nonprofit Wild Diversity
- skills—she's a teacher at The Rebuilding Center
- confidence—as a roller derby coach, Mercy has led workshops around the world, to empower women to realize their potential
Mercy M'fon trained with Oregon Tradeswomen as a carpenter and has found great satisfaction in her career. She also has over 15 years in leadership as an educator and facilitator directly serving community. When she isn't building or teaching, Mercy M'fon spends time in the outdoors via her organization, Wild Diversity. Wild Diversity strives to create an accessible, safe and welcoming outdoor community for POC and LGBTQ outdoorists. Mercy M'fon is one of the original Dovetail Workwear wear testers and is a big fan of our pocket system: "Just making pockets on women's pants that say 'you’re a woman, but you might also use these because you probably don’t carry a purse around all day.' That is hands down my favorite feature." Follow Mercy M'fon @wilddiversity.
Mercy M'fon heads into the wild in her namesake vest, the M'fon. She's also into our beanie.
