What should a female electrician wear to work?
For electrical work with arc flash hazards, you need FR-rated pants that meet NFPA 70E. What ATPV rating do I need for electrical work?

Are these pants NFPA 70E compliant?
Yes. All three Dovetail FR styles — Britt FR Canvas, Britt FR Denim, and DX Bootcut FR Denim — meet NFPA 70E (arc flash), NFPA 2112 (flash fire), and ASTM F1506. They are PPE CAT 2 rated.
What's the difference between FR canvas and FR denim?
Both are FR-certified but with different ATPV ratings and feels. The FR canvas (Britt Utility FR Canvas styles, ATPV 8.9 cal/cm²) uses a cotton/spandex FR-engineered blend — slightly lighter weight and more breathable. The FR denim (Britt Utility FR Denim, ATPV 13 cal/cm²; DX Bootcut FR Denim, ATPV 18 cal/cm²) uses a cotton/modacrylic/spandex inherent FR construction — heavier and warmer. For warmer environments or summer work, the canvas tends to be the more comfortable choice.
Do these FR pants have enough pockets for electrical work?
Yes. The Britt Utility FR styles have Hip Slot™, a zip pocket, a tool loop, a crotch gusset, a kneepad slot, and reinforced knees. The DX Bootcut has an EZWaist™, tool loop, and articulated knee. If pocket count is your priority, the Britt FR styles offer the most utility.
Can I wash FR-rated pants normally?
Yes, with a few precautions. FR-rated pants should be washed in warm water (not hot), tumble dried on low, and never dry cleaned or bleached — those processes can degrade the FR properties. Do not use fabric softener on FR garments. Follow the care label on each specific style.
Do FR pants come in extended sizes?
Yes. The Britt Utility FR Canvas runs 000–20 with multiple inseam lengths. The Britt Utility FR Denim and DX Bootcut FR Denim run 00–18. Check the individual product page for the full size and inseam grid.
Why don't regular workwear brands fit women electricians?
Most workwear brands design for men and offer women's in a modified or downsized cut. Are these good for welding too?
