I was a bit concerned when I first opened the package containing my new pants. They weighed a TON! I was sure they were going to be stiff and uncomfortable, however sturdy they might be. I am happy to say I was wrong. These pants manage to do it all. They are sturdy, comfortable, easy to move in, and LOADED with pockets! The brushed finish on the inside does make them warmer in cold weather - such a nice contrast with regular denim, which feels remarkably like a sheet of ice against your skin in cold weather. I'm an architect, and am wearing them to construction site visits, field measurement trips (which often means working in an unheated, partially demolished space), and fire escape inspections. I need to be able to move freely, but still be protected from rough surfaces and sharp objects. These pants are the right tool for the job. On another note, I am a woman with a real woman butt and thighs. A great deal of the construction wear out there seems to be cut to a male frame even when it's supposedly aimed at women. (As a friend said, "they change the lining to pink and with no other changes, and it's suddenly for women.") Usually, by the time I find protective gear that makes allowance for my rear, the remainder of the garment is like a circus tent. These pants fit perfectly - no giant fistful of fabric at my lower back to bunch up with a belt.
