I am 5' 11" and weigh about 160 +/-. I purchased a Medium.

I am a medium in shirts but the length of most sleeves often puts me into a large. I was too cynical to allow myself to dare to dream there could be a product out there that would make me this happy...but it happened! First there seems to be very few clothes made with 100% cotton and I am very thrilled in their choice to use that material. Second, the weight and thickness of the sweatshirt appears to be from a time long ago when companies made real clothes. Third, and this is the thing that sent me over the edge, the sleeves FIT! The length of the sleeves go past my wrist! Hallelujah! Plus, this is very rare as well, the sleeves begin in the armpit and the articulation of the entire shoulder stays where it is supposed to.

With that being said, here's my situation: I use a thin wool sweatshirt under this sweatshirt (for wicking purposes). I then wear a down vest on top of this sweatshirt and a large gortex shell to block wind/rain/some snow. Because I am moving around a lot, this setup works very comfortably. Because I wear a lot of layers, it is important that each layer fits as well as it does. This sweatshirt has become a daily wear.

I realize there are a lot of exclamation points in this, but I really am this excited. I would definitely recommend this sweatshirt.

I should have bought the small but I can wear a hoodie under the medium and stay super warm. Looks great. Paired with the Maven Slims in dark indigo... Total head turner!

I have had my eye on this hoodie for quite sometime and finally purchased it.

The weight and the quality of how it is made was just as expected- top notch.

The fit , however was terrible. Quite possibly one of the most uncomfortable garments that has ever been on my body. I had gone with an XL, which is really the largest that I can usually go with since I’m quite short.

The biggest problem was the arm holes were way too small for me. There is a stretch panel that goes up the side and in the arm pit , which gives it a nicely tailored look, but it pulled my shirt sleeve up to my shoulder and I feel that it added to the terrible fit.

Super disappointed. It’s on its way back to Dovetail.

Just got my 4th pair of amazing dovetail pants, thought I would try out a top. Unfortunately, the fabric bunches in the arm pits and is unbearable. It was sewn like someone was going to have their arms over their heads all day. Also, the bottom of the jacket is not tapered in, but out, and there is no drawstring for adjustment. So, if you have smaller hips that do not fill it out, it is loose and allows drafts right in.

So glad I ordered!! Took me a couple of times to get the rhythm of the zipper, now it’s quick and easy. It’s keeps me warm, but temperature comfortable at the same time. I’m typically a size 12, ordered a large and it’s perfect. I’m a landscape designer and this is now my favorite in the field!!
